Frances C. Willard School 80
Opened in 1929 as the IPS Public Grade School for Broad Ripple. There were some additions to the original building. A library was added to the north side in 1949 and classrooms were added to the east side in 1956. The school was closed in 1980. It became apartments in 1985. It became condos in 1996. Frances C. Willard was founder of the World Woman's Christian Temperance Union. When your editor attended from 1965 through 1974, the school was K - 8. When my father attended in 1937, there was no kindergarten.
